Mwalimu Ame Represents the Wa Ngao at RFL Dance Exhibition

Ame has been dancing in SL Gor since 2007 it’s a strong passion of hers. It is her hope that more FW (and FM) in Gor will embrace this BtB art form and expression of emotion and storytelling.   She has participated in RFL of SL since 2008 and dances today in honor of all those who are fighting and those who have lost the battle. It’s her sincerest prayer to see cancer wiped out in her lifetime.

“On October 7, 2014, Australia’s ABC news reported the seed from the berry of the rare Blushwood tree in Queensland was being used in studies for cancerous tumor eradication. From this comes the inspiration of my dance.”

“The Gorean woodsman, it might be mentioned, before he will strike a tree with an axe, speaks to the tree, begs its forgiveness and explains the use to which the wood will be put.”  Page 238 – Captive of Gor

Huntress Ame kneels before the only remaining flower of its kind, reverently caressing the silken crimson petals, twilight casting a dim cerulean hue draping them in an almost aetheric glow. A gentle smile forms, softening the face of the once fierce Taluna betraying the compassionate spirit buried within.

Languidly she rises from her place, stretching out graceful arms as if to thank the three sisters for giving her the opportunity to have a meaningful life, protecting the one thing able to annihilate the horrible plague brought to them from Earth. Twirling in the moonlight, lifts her wizened hands and visage to the sky, praying for continued health on Gor.

Huntress Ame flails her limbs in abandon remembering the wars and strife as the cities turned on each other in blame, the mothers weeping for their children, Companions grieving the other, the grief watching her sisters fall one by one, lithe form absorbing all the pain and expressing it through taut muscles, showing her charge all that passed as she grew tucked away in this protected spot.

She acts out the battle, aged muscles still responding as a young jungle warrior, arms slicing the air, lightly tanned body gracefully rolling on sure feet, seeming to fight for her life against a great jungle larl, small fists jabbing the loam as if to drive the terrible disease into the pits of hell, roaring in ferocity as glittering drops fall from glistening tawny eyes.

Her frantic movements calm as the memories fade into better things, the discovery by the great Physicians her beautiful bloom contained the one component to eradicate the all consuming pestilence, cultivating and caring for it as if it were her own child, diligently watching to be sure the tender shoots were allowed to thrive allowing all of Gor to benefit.

Ame pirouettes in celebration as steadily the health of her home is restored, expressing gratitude to the Priest Kings for guiding her path to this miraculous vine giving her a reason to continue after the decimation of her tribe sisters and brothers. Delicate feet skip lightly in the small clearing, loose curls aged to ivory swirl about toned shoulders as if knowing this would be the last time they would envelope her.

She drops to her knees using the last of her fading strength to execute a complicated series of leaps and spins, the beat pulsing through her veins the only music she needs, pouring her all into this final dance of rejoicing, secure in the knowledge the remaining people of Gor and those to come would never need to suffer this scourge again

Huntress Ame elegantly bows low before the fading bloom, honoring it with the veneration only given to highest of Initiates, gently scooping it from the soft grass where it had just landed, cradling it against her still warm breast, murmuring quietly as they placidly slip away., “The sickness is no more. We can rest now, our job is done.”

Basi, wakaenda katika amani – They went in peace.
